Classics

Classics are classic for a reason... cuz they're claaaaassic.  What? That wasn't a satisfactory explanation?  Let me put it to ya this way... There are the quote/unquote "classics" and then there are your "classics", your very own version that belongs to YOU!!!  While I am a huge proponent for dressing up and looking your best, I love me some denim.  This goes for pants and shirts alike.  My 2nd go-to item would be stripes; nautical, vertical, diagonal... if it has any variation of lines it will inevitably  end up in my closet.

(proof)

What are your go-to "classic" pieces?

Leopard-Stripe Mixer

I know I got a few cross eyed looks this day but it's ok.  Any fashionista knows you can mix prints.  If your cringing right about now... I will give you this advice if you would like to be so bold.  Keep the prints within the same family size.  This will create an over-all print rather than looking like you got dressed with your eyes closed.  Also for the shy but those daring to at least stick their toe in the water, start out with monochromatic color pallet.  ;o)  Go ahead, get the party started and mix it up!

Going to the sale and gonna get the boots I covet...  Going to the sale and gonna get the boots I covet.  (singing to the melody of  "going to the chapel & gonna get married") because well let's be honest,  its pretty much the same thing.

Disclaimer: my olive suede over-the-knee boots were not harmed in this dramatization ;-)

Double Duty

It's a dress.... no wait its's a shirt!  Who cares, it looks cute both ways :)

The tiered ruffle skirt typically sits much lower on the hips but nothing a belt can't fix.  I wore the skirt high waisted so you could still see the bottom of the dress sticking out.  I think it looks cute, don't you?  Do I dare suggest the slim/straight dress combined with the voluminous ruffles create a peplum effect?  Yep... I do!  Have you or would you wear a skirt over your dress???

Shirt or Dress???

There has been a great debate (ok maybe not great as in grande) but a debate non-the-less. I bought this said shirt/dress or shirt dress if you will last spring from a thrift boutique. I loved how it was so whimsical and kinda made me feel like I was in the Pirates of the Carribean... ARGH!!! Plus, I can never turn my back on stripes.. vertical or horizontal... I might possibly be the nautical queen (did I go too far???)... regardless I love my stripes... without further a do... see for yourself.. and you decide... Shirt??? or Dress???

AAAHH (insert blowing fake smoke here.. cuz I don't smoke.. that's gross.. especially paint brushes, DUH!)

Why am I fake smoking in satisfaction??? because I know you all agree with me... IT'S A DRESS!!!
